Environmentally sound technologies for women in agriculture

Women are critical to the well-being of farm households. Aside from raising children, women are expected to prepare all meals, maintain the homestead, and assist in crop and animal production, all the while tending to the genral health of their families. Perhaps, ironically, it is because they have so many  responsibilities that they have been overlooked by agriculturalists an policy makers.

This manual details 60 easy-to-use technologies that can help farm women by increasing their output, raising their incomes, or reducing drudgery. Ranging from animal husbandry to vegetable production and from safe drinking water to fish production, the ideas in this book will prove valuable not only in South Asia (where this book was developed), but also in many other parts of the world.
