Managing
dryland resources
A manual for Eastern and Southern Africa
|
This manual provides extension workers, non-government organizations
and trainers with practical guidelines on developing one of the world's
most difficult areas: the drylands of eastern and southern Africa. The
book describes both physical technologies (such as how to set up a
drip-irrigation scheme) and human and social interventions (such as
marketing groups and land tenure improvements). The book was compiled
through a participatory writeshop involving 30 specialists from eastern
and southern Africa.
