We had to wait several months after Swissair went
belly-up before its successor, Swiss, came out with a new bag. Well, here
it is. With a paltry design like this, I wonder how they are going to
attract any passengers. Thanks to Thomas Soltwedel.

No longer an "Air sickness bag" (in English, German, French and
Italian), but now "Waste" (in the same languages), plus "Rument", which I
guess is Romansch. Thanks to

No less than 3600 of them. Plus two bigger ones in the red squares near
the bottom. Thanks to Janusz Tichoniuk. (2004) |

I always pick up a couple of bags on board, even though I'm pretty sure
I've already got that particular item. Then comes the unremitting tedium of
comparing my newly harvested bags with each other and those already in my
collection in the usually vain hope of detecting a minor difference.
This bag shows the value of this apparently thankless series of tasks:
the black fine print (Waste, Abfall, etc.) is printed lower down the bag
than on the previous edition. To clinch it, from the same aircraft I also
harvested several examples of the previous edition with the black printing
higher on the bag.

Swiss are trying to cover the costs of their bags by
getting Belcolor Farbfoto to sponsor them. Thanks to Janusz Tichoniuk. (2003) |

A revised photobag layout. The code number is above the barcode on the
reverse. Thanks to Janusz Tichoniuk. (2004) |
